What do you mean, when speak
Look at advertisements, each employer searches for workers who are able to work
in a command. All we think, that we are command players, but a problem that for
each person the word "command" has different value. Moreover, this term is
perceived by men and women differently.
Boys since the childhood have got used to play sports. As soon as they will
learn to go, they start to throw balls and try to throw them in a grid or to
strike on them a bat. The group of boys chooses the parties and starts to play
games. Adults encourage boys and adjust on a victory.
And girls, on the contrary, play games which simulate a life. They play dolls
which, in their opinion, are able to talk, cry as small children. Girls walk and
talk to other little girls who too care of dolls. They compose histories about a
fantastic life, and parents learn girls ?« accurately to play with other children
?».
Now present, that children grow and become heads of departments or leaders of
commands. As you think, whether how men and women behaved in the childhood
influences style of management?
For women the good command player is with whom it is pleasant to work. Women ??“
leaders try to understand feelings of members of a command, to listen to their
ideas. They work, trying to find the compromise in group and search for
decisions which would be comprehensible to all members of group. Therefore,
women heads often ask opinions of the people and discuss the ideas with members
of group even before decision-making. Women often explain the reasons on which
that was accepted, or other decision.
For the majority of men, however, the good command player is the one who does
that speak it. The command should follow instructions, therefore there should be
no discussions or remarks from members of a command. In business-environment,
the man ??“ the head is a trainer who expects from members of a command of
following to instructions. It declares the decision and does not see necessity,
to explain the reasons of acceptance of those or other decisions.
Any of above described styles of management is not good or bad, it is simple
they different. Women need to understand, that men ??“ heads are not
self-confident, they simply follow the style. If you wish to show the ideas to
the man ??“ to the head, you need to show the initiative because you never about
it will ask. Men need to realize, that when women ask opinions of people is not
weakness, it is simply such style of management of group of people.
Therefore, when you describe yourselves as the command player, pay attention to
the one who asks you about it
