Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born on the 15th of April, 1990 in Paris. She led first five years of her life to France before moving to England. Her parents - Jacqueline and Chris Watson - both lawyers, are now in divorce. Emma was their first child, and they named the daughter in honor of her paternal grandmother, Freda Watson, who had changed her name to Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson after marriage. Since three Emma wished to play in a theatre, and at seven she has already won the first actor's premium - a prize for recitation at school readers’ competition. At school theatre she played a malicious witch Morgan in "Arthur: The Young Years", the Swallow in the performance "The Swallow and The Prince", a cook in "Alice in wonderland", and one of the leading roles in "Small Prince". She’s also used to put on a suit of a witch at Halloween, not suspecting, that once she becomes the real witch! However, in magic she never trusted. When someone pronounces “magic”, she imagines a white rabbit from a hat. She’s not a superstitious girl! Nevertheless, once there happened something magic to her.
The girl was only ten years when impressed with her school play performances, Watson's Oxford theatre teacher filed her to the casting to film "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone". And soon, she was taken into serious consideration. Firstly Emma was indifferent but when she was invited to the second round of tests, her attitude changed. Though she did not expect up to the end to receive the role of Hermione Granger for which hundreds other girls applied.
In general, beautiful clothes are one of the main hobbies of the young actress. She even thinks of becoming a designer. But Hermione isn’t supposed to wear any beautiful clothes, just a school uniform and a cloak. But Emma compensated that fact - having received the fee for "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone", she went shopping.
When absolutely free the young movie star lives a usual life: communicates with her mum and brother Alex, plays with the cats, feeds the gold fishes, spends time with friends, and, certainly, goes to school. Emphasizing that her life hasn’t changed after "Potter", Emma declares, that she still has to look after the brother and do her homework. Another interesting fact is that she doesn’t know how much money she earns. Her parents hide the secret and she’s not even eager to know. However, after the shootings in "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone", her parents made a small party with a disco and laser show to celebrate the beginning of her career.
Journalists constantly try to find any romantic history developing between Emma and Dan or Rupert. She answers they’re simply good friends and nothing else. More than that she’s not going to fall in love with somebody at all in the nearest future.
What is to become of her? In fact at 12 fatal decisions can’t be made. Despite of the actor's glory, she doesn’t want to give up school and hopes to enter a humanitarian college.
